It's not true that a Vice President doesn't have the leverage to do anything; ignore Bawumia' — Alan

 # NATIONAL POLITICS  By Abrakwa Jacob Kojo Mr. Kyerematen says Dr. Bawumia can't separate himself from the country's problems because he's part of the cabinet. He believes Vice Presidents can make a positive difference in the country. "There’s no doubt about that, how is it even possible to deny that you have been a minister and say that you are not part of a system? But that is not the case, you are talking about being a minister, governments are not run by ministers. It’s about the executive authority at the highest level. You provide the direction as a minister. This theory that if you are vice president you don’t have the leverage to do anything that is not true. In the case of late former President J.E Mills, literally gave everything to then vice president Mahama, every opportunity to lead processes. It is the same thing, President Akufo-Addo has also given the vice president [Dr Bawumia] every opportunity to lead processes of governance," He compared Dr. B

NATIONAL SERVICE FOR GRADUATES WILL BE OPTIONAL UNDER MY PRESIDENCY - BAWUMIA

# NATIONAL POLITICS  WRITTEN BY ABRAKWA JACOB KOJO  In a recent speech at the UPSA auditorium in Accra, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), unveiled a bold proposal to revamp Ghana's national service scheme. Highlighting the pressing need for job creation among Ghanaian youth, Dr. Bawumia advocated for a significant shift in the current national service policy. Under his proposed plan, graduates who secure employment immediately after completing their education would be exempt from national service obligations. This exemption, he argued, would enable these graduates to swiftly join the workforce and contribute to the nation's economic growth. Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia suggested making national service optional for all graduates, granting them the freedom to choose whether to participate. By removing the mandatory nature of national service, he believes that students would have more flexibility to pursue immediate career oppo

This trend, possibly since private toilets were introduced, is a common theme on social media and discussed by experts. While it amuses women, specialists suggest that men's extended bathroom breaks might be linked to their generally better gut health compared to women. Gastroenterologist Kyle Staller expressed, "I think anyone who knows a man knows it’s true that men do spend longer in the toilet or on the toilet than women do, but in reality [they] are much less likely to have bowel issues and chronic constipation than women are." Gastrointestinal psychologist Madison Simons from the Cleveland Clinic suggested a biological explanation, emphasizing the need for relaxation to facilitate the digestive process. She explained that men possess a unique ability to smoothly transition between the tense fight-or-flight sympathetic state and the

POLITICS    By Abrakwa Jacob Kojo University of Ghana Professor Ransford Gyampo emphasizes the significance of civil servants maintaining political neutrality for effective work delivery. He criticizes lecturers openly aligning with political parties, highlighting the importance of students feeling comfortable seeking guidance. Gyampo supports legal action taken by MP Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor against the Controller and Accountant-General's participation in NPP primaries while in office. Gyampo welcomes the court's role in settling disputes regarding civil servants engaging in politics while holding official positions.
