Despite previous delays, Parliament is now focusing on this bill. The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, said they aimed to finish discussing it by Friday, February 9, 2024. To ensure this, Parliament has dedicated significant time to discussing the bill, even putting other matters aside. The bill aims to uphold traditional family values and prohibits activities related to LGBTQ+ rights, with penalties included. The Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, stated that if the President doesn't approve the bill after it passes, Parliament will override his decision using its constitutional powers.
